SA:MP regrets guilty plea to tax charge

ADELAIDE, Feb 3 AAP - South Australian Greens MP Tammy Franks pleaded guilty to failing
to furnish a tax return for ten years but now says she could have asked for more time
because of her marriage breakdown.

The upper house MP pleaded guilty in the Adelaide Magistrate's Court last year to 10
counts of failing to furnish a taxation approved form between 2001 and 2010.

She blamed the omission on stressful personal circumstances and a marriage breakdown,
but pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
