In the face of vociferous resident complaints, the town Planning Board refused to take action Tuesday night on a proposed 180-unit apartment complex off Route 155.

Developer Elias Weiss has been seeking approval for the project for four years, but residents complained the development as proposed would exacerbate existing traffic problems. They also said it would create a dangerous shortcut through an existing residential neighborhood from Route 155 to the Latham Farms shopping plaza now under development.
