Here's a new way to while away time on the train or in an airport: 1-minute video podcasts demonstrating gardening gadgets that will play on a home computer, laptop, portable video player or cell phone with a screen and an Internet connection. The video podcasts are a spinoff of HGTV's "I Want That!" series touting home products.
The garden gizmos, such as a solar-powered hanging basket rotator, an ergonomic trowel and a vicious-looking cross between a lopper and a chainsaw, are demonstrated by Paul James, host of the cable network's "Gardening by the Yard" show. Look past James' goofy schtick; his TV show offers sound advice. The podcasts started airing at www.hgtv.com June 19 (look under "gardening" tab). A new one debuts every Monday through Aug. 7.
